The 2023 season will end with the 2023 NCAA tournament, and you can watch all the games on ESPN channels. The national semifinals are on Thursday, Dec. 14, on ESPN. The first semi final starts at 7 p.m. and the second semifinal starts right after the first one finishes.

The national championship will be live on ABC for the first time ever, and you can see the final two teams play on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida

The 2023-24 season is full of exciting games, thrilling finishes, and outstanding performances by individual players and teams. Some of the highlights of the season are:

  • LSU Lady Tigers won their first NCAA title by defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 in the championship game on April 3, 2023. LSU’s star guard, Aaliyah Edwards, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four after scoring 28 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out six assists in the final game1.
  • Iowa Hawkeyes reached their first Final Four since 1993, led by the nation’s leading scorer, Caitlin Clark. Clark averaged 27.5 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game in the season, and scored 35 points in the semifinal loss to LSU2.
  • Stanford Cardinal, the defending champions, had a remarkable run in the tournament, winning four games by a single point, including a buzzer-beater by Haley Jones in the Elite Eight against South Carolina. Stanford fell short in the semifinal against Iowa, losing 86-84 in overtime.

NCAA Championship Women 2023 Schedule

The tournament features 64 teams from different conferences and regions, who compete in a single-elimination format. The tournament begins in mid-March and ends in early April, with the Final Four and the championship game being held at a predetermined site.

The 2023-24 season will have the Final Four and the championship game at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The schedule of the tournament is as follows:


  • Selection Sunday:Sunday, March 17, 2024. The 64 teams that will participate in the tournament are announced and seeded.
  • First Four: March 20-21, 2024. The eight lowest-seeded teams play in four games to determine the last four spots in the first round.
  • First round: March 22-23, 2024. The 64 teams are divided into four regions, each with 16 teams. The teams play in 32 games to advance to the second round.
  • Second round: March 24-25, 2024. The 32 remaining teams play in 16 games to advance to the Sweet 16.
  • Sweet 16:Sweet 16: March 29-30, 2024. The 16 remaining teams play in eight games to advance to the Elite Eight.
  • Elite Eight: March 31-April 1, 2024. The eight remaining teams play in four games to determine the four regional champions, who will advance to the Final Four.
  • Final Four: April 5, 2024. The four regional champions play in two semifinal games to determine the two finalists, who will play for the national championship.
  • Championship game: April 7, 2024. The two finalists play for the national title and the glory of being the NCAA champions.
